"Bioniric" is an oniric trip into Nature, reinterpreted in a Y2K style. It is ideally set in the early 2000s atmosphere, with sounds ranging from Drum and bass to Vaporwave, to experimental music.

This is not a conventional music album: its view is beyond music.
This project aims is to combine sound with imagination and melody with nature. I was looking for a way to establish a genuinely open dialogue between me and the listener, conveying the vision of a new dimension that I would define as "eco-centric". The real protagonist of the whole work is, in fact,  Nature itself.

I was particularly inspired by R. Gordon Wasson's article, "Mushrooms and Japanese Culture", which helped me learn about the most diverse types of plants with the most unique characteristics and appearances in the world - and even more. I dedicated these 10 tracks to other unique living beings: they all inspired me and made me think about how beautiful our planet is.

In the beginning, the album was supposed to be a small tribute to the progressive electronic albums of the 70s theme-based on nature but reinterpreted in a personal style and Y2K, which is a historical period I'm extremely attached to and which I consider an inexhaustible source of inspiration. For the atmospheres, I took inspiration from movies like Katsu Kanai's "Holy Theater" and the BBC documentaries "The Secret Life of Plants" and "Fantastic Fungi" by Louie Schwartzberg.
To better and fully dive myself into the emotions and images that I wanted to convey with my music, I also took inspiration from some video games such as: "Katamari Damacy", "Giftpia", "Zenses: Rainforest", "Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future" and " Hyperspace Outlaw ".

This album is extremely complex: it is the result of a 2-year-long in-depth research and composition. The themes range from nostalgia to psychedelia, to technology and solarpunk.

Some parts of the album, especially the pads and drum parts, were composed using the MIDI Biodata Sonification Device by attaching it to various flowers and plants which - thanks to the MIDI device - converted their electromagnetic waves into MIDI scores.

Album recordings started on December 12, 2020, and ended on November 6, 2021; they took place at Chandarma Studios and in some woods nearby Florence (especially here: 43.789127 11.363388, 43.720450 11.168281, 43.87462 11.18168).
